Not if you’re a scrapper! I still have photos from Christmas to work with, here are a few of them

I played around some with my Gazelle here, this was my first attempt at welding alphas – and it worked!

My last play with the Fiskars cutting system – the day after I made this layout I handed the cutter and all the templates over to my daughter, Jessica.

Back to the Gazelle! The paper embellishments are all made with it. The journaling is written on handmade paper from Svartvik.

Hey, no cuts? That’s right. I can still create without it, although it’s hard…

… so I dug deep in the jewelry supplies instead!

A felt border from a nearby store and a skeleton leaf from IKEA.

The alpha “buttons” are made of FIMO-clay, I added some Alco Inks to them and topped with stickers from Mrs Grossmans.

The glittery flower center is a PopUp dot from Glue Dots covered with Doodlebug Sugar Coating.

This felt border is from Panduro. I added some dots with Liquid Pearls to it.

Except for the Prima flowers, all paper embellishments are cut with the Gazelle. The Poinsettia is cut in gold cardstock and painted with Distress Inks.

This is an acrylic frame that got dressed up with some gold leaf and Alco Inks. I was very pleased with the result and will make more of those!

I was going to make some pillow boxes as treat boxes for Kelly’s birthday party, and found out my template made too small boxes! So I had to redo it, but found out it was quite easy to make them without templates as soon as I got the hang of it!

1. You will need
8 1/2″x11″ paper
Ruler
Embossing tool or bone folder
Circle shape (I used Fiskars template)
Scissors
Double sided tape or glue

2. Score one mark at about 1/2″ from the right side, and one score on the half of the leftover area. I made mine at 10 cm and 20 cm from the left side, as I only have a ruler for centimeters!

3. Fold along the scored lines.

4. Mark the circled shape as shown on the photo, on both sides

5. Cut along the lines

6. Mark another circled line using embossing tool or bone folder, that touches the ends like in the photo

7. Embellish the box as you like, then glue/tape together along the narrow folded piece, and fold in the ends.
