I have trouble keeping track of all those birthdays and anniversaries, so I made myself a birthday book a few years back. Now it’s time for Christmas gifts, and these are the two I made for the kids’ teachers this year.

Click on the pictures for a larger view.

Covers: cereal boxes cut to 6×6″, covered with patterned paper (Websters Pages), a Heidi Swapp stamp (remember) and a free stamp from Craft Stamper.

Pages: I cut 12 pcs of 12×12″ single sided paper in 4, measuring 6×6″, and stamped on the back, plain, side using various stamps (Technique Tuesday, Stampendous and Tattered Angels) using the masking technique. Edges are distressed.

Embellishments: a few Prima flowers and some lace from Panduro, Viva Décor Pearl Pens for flower centers.

All put together with a BIA.

Well, we did during the Midsummer weekend in June.

Kelly caught the first fish.

Webster’s Pages paper, Tattered Angels stamps, flowers and title cut with a Gazelle, skeleton leaf and a ribbon.

No fish in this lake… Only small flies and mosquitos there!

Core’dinations cardstock, antiqued book pages, Tattered Angels stamps, Martha Stewart border punch and some buttons.

Close-up on the book pages.

There’s some fishing line here too!

This one speaks for itself!

Core’dinations cardstock, antiqued book page, Tattered Angels stamp, title cut with the Gazelle.

More fishing pages will arrive in the near future…

Card album

This album is made in the same way as the one I showed yesterday, but it has only 4 paper bags and no birthday book. A gift for my niece.

The bags have different texts on them, to show what kind of card is enclosed. This is for birthday cards…

… one pocket for Thank-You-cards, and the other two holds cards with other texts and without texts.

For my SIL’s 40th birthday I created a combined birthday book and card album – keep track of the birthdays and always have cards ready at hand!

2 pcs cardboard, 8×8″

12 paper bags, cut to 8″ length

ass patterned papers

12 pcs cardstock/paper with months and dates printed

1 1/4″ o-wires and

Dress up the covers and cut the paper bags to fit. Make the holes and bind together using the Bind-It-All.

Decorate the covers with papers and embellishments of choice, and make all the cards to go with it!

This is a great gift that will give pleasure in several steps – first the one who gets it, and then those that gets all the lovely cards!

For this album I used Webster’s Pages patterned papers, UTEE gold on the edges of the covers and embellishments from stash.

The Bind-It-All and wires and UTEE from Bumblebee.
